....since my last post, oooops!
The job has come on leaps and bounds since March. The frame and the block work is complete, the roof is on and the windows and zinc roof covering are now being fitted.
The weather has been very kind to Mark and his work mates and with only a few days of major rain, this has meant the building of the frame has kept on schedule and within budget.
We have some photos of the build at the very beginning of the construction of the frame on our website now, and more photos will follow....going to have to have words with my photographer!!

What a lovely day!!
As I am writing this, the sun is well and truely shining. So, why am I on the laptop? (note to self: do this on rainy days only, we have enough of them!!). It has to be said though, that conditions on site have been pretty poor up until now and Mark was starting to get fed up with swimming in mud and sludge!!
Mark's project is going full steam ahead. We are now on week 5 and he has started the construction of the timber/steel frame for the building which he is building himself on site for his client. Our client was quoted a hefty sum for the construction of the frame, according to the plans, which would have been made off site and brought down for erection, but Mark has agreed to build the frame on site for much less.
Although this is going to take slightly longer; 1/2 weeks, we believe that fewer mistakes will be made and any errors with the plans will be highlighted and corrected almost immediately. Although detailed plans are essential for any new build, mistakes are very often made. These can be very costly to the client, however, problems can be avoided when you employ a project manager who can identify mistakes at the outset and therefore reduce those costly mistakes.
To date, Mark has actually saved both clients a combined £....... by identifying planning errors before any major works have been carried out, definitely something to consider when thinking about who you should use to get your project completed in the most efficient and cost effective way...
Photos of the job will follow as soon as our 'photographer' pulls her finger out!!
